Vox Populi

Check out this article from Reason magazine on the growth of personal freedom in recent decades. Particularly interesting is the notion that despite the massive growth of government, politics has become less relevant to the average citizen.

Which begs the question: why are most radio talk hosts still focusing on politics and nothing but...?

Any-Port-In-The-Storm, Dept.

“Talk Radio,” used to be about cutting though the BS. Now, in most cases, it’s about pro-war, Bush-loving, Bible-thumping, party-line Republican social conservatives reinforcing each other‘s fears and prejudices, with spoon-fed talking points. Forget about where you stand politically – this is nothing but plain old laziness, and it makes for boring radio.
