Snake (Oil Salesman) In The Grass

Defender of free minds and markets that I am, I gotta tell ya...we have to get Kevin Trudeau off the air.

This guy is an even bigger douchebag (if such a thing is possible) than John Edward; while Edward shamelessly expoits the bereaved, Trudeau gives "advice" that will...well, it certainly won't help.

Half Heaven, Half Heartache

The passing of sixties pop idol Gene Pitney marks yet another sad milestone (though I suppose one can draw some comfort from the fact that he died, by all accounts, peacefully in his sleep).
My favorite Pitney hits include It Hurts To Be In Love, featuring beautifully textured multi-tracked vocals and the Phil Spector-produced Every Breath I Take, with its raw soulfulness. Pitney was a master.

A reading from the Holy Book of Saint Oprah...

An article in New York magazine suggests that the end of an era is at hand - the era of sickening celebrity worship.

It's about damn time. It's gone well beyond the stage of ridiculous...
